In order to gain membership to the Association of Planning Engineers, you need to apply directly through our website.
No matter which membership you apply for, if you are retired or over 70 years of age, there is no cost and your membership will be free. It is important to note that membership prices vary based on the region in which you are located; this is unrelated to your nationality. Please check the fees above for more details. Indian Sub-Continent includes all or part of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
You can pay for your annual subscription through monthly direct debit from your second year of membership.
Student membership:
Members who are applying as a student must be in full-time or part-time education on a relevant course. Evidence of this must be given when registering. Membership of students will incur no cost while the individual is in education.
Technical Member (TAPE):
Applying as a Technical Member you can apply directly without any hassle. You must have a degree qualification or relevant experience to be eligible to apply for this membership. This membership is a stepping stone to becoming MAPE if you don’t have a degree qualification. Once again, if you are over 70 years of age or retired, this membership will be free.
MAPE and FAPE:
In order to become MAPE, you must have first been a member of APE as a Technical Member or AAPE in order to progress. MAPE and FAPE can progress through the membership manager. The application fee will be required when applying for TAPE or AAPE, however prices are varied based on the region where the applicant is based, irrespective of their nationality. When you officially upgrade to MAPE or FAPE, you’ll need to pay the Members Review fee or the Fellowship Review fee.
One-off Payment
Annual Membership Payments:
When you apply for membership from the 1st of January to 31st of March, you will pay the full subscription for the year. If you apply from the 1st of April to the 30th of June, you will pay ¾ of the yearly payment. If you apply from July 1st to September 30th, you’ll pay exactly ½ of the yearly subscription. Finally, if you apply between the 1st of October to the 31st of December you will pay ¼ of the annual subscription fee. This makes no changes to the application fee, which will remain the same regardless of when you apply for membership.
When the new year begins, you’ll need to pay your subscription fee before the 31st of January. If you fail to pay before the 31st of January, your membership will be terminated. For the purpose of renewal you’ll need to reapply and process your membership review once again.
